Ohio's AIR (American institute of research)Tests
3rd graders will take the English Language Arts and Mathematics AIR assessments. You can visit the website below to learn more about these tests. Click the bicycle icon (practice site), login as a guest, and select Grade 3 from the drop down menu. Although the sample questions differ from the actual test, they will give you an idea of the format of the tests.
3rd graders take the ELA AIR test in the fall and spring and the math AIR test in the spring. Students that do not pass the ELA AIR test in the fall will also take the Terra Nova test in the spring. I will talk with you in more detail about the Third Grade Reading Guarantee at Parent/Teacher conferences.
Fall ELA AIR test dates: TBD
All 3rd graders take this test. It will help guide instruction and allow us to test for growth on the Spring AIR test.
Spring Terra Nova test date: Sometime during the week of March 13 (only students that did not pass the Fall ELA AIR test will take this)
Spring ELA AIR test dates: TBD (all students take so that growth from the fall can be measured)
Math AIR test dates: TBD (all students take)
On these testing days, please help your child to be at school on time, well-rested, and with a good breakfast. Please do not schedule absences for these days.
